To promotions, preservations and protections of Sherpa history, language, literature, script,
arts, religion and culture as well as to unite all Sherpa living, working, studying in Japan under one roof to exchange
information about community, daily life, health with each other in real time and to be bridge for better relationship
between Sherpas, Japanese and other Nepalese community and to lead and bring Sherpa in front of others community,
Sherpa Association Japan (SAJ) was established in April 21,2002.

हामी शेर्पा जातिहरुले एैतिहासिक काल देखि परम्परागत रुपमा मनाउदै आइरहेको महान चाड लोसार च्यक फो तक्लो २१३७ को यही फेबुवारी २१ तारीख आईतवारको दिन बिहान ठीक ११:३० बजे देखि बेलुकी ५:३० बजे सम्म टोकियो स्थित नेपाली रेस्टुराँ "Himalayan Moon Cafe" मा धुमधामका साथ् मनाउने कार्यक्रम रहेको कुरो यहाँहरु सबैलाई सहर्ष जानकारी गराउदै, नयाँ बर्षा २१३७ औ लोसारको शुभ अवसरमा जापान, नेपाल लगायत संसारभरी छरियरा बस्नु भएका सम्पूर्ण शेर्पा दाजु भाई तथा दिदी बहिनिहरुमा शेर्पा संघ जापान टोकियोको तर्फबाट हार्दिक मंगलमय शुभ-कामना व्यक्त गर्दछौ। साथै जापानमा रहनु भएका शेर्पा दाजु भाई तथा दिदी बहिनिहरुले लोसार कार्यक्रम सम्बन्धी अन्य केही जानकारी लिनु परेमा कृपया निम्न ब्यक्तिहरुलाई सम्पर्क गर्नु होला, धन्यवाद।

About Sherpa
The name comes from a group of people known as Sherpas who inhabit the high altitudes of the Himalayan region along the borders of Tibet and Nepal.
Approximately 500 years ago Sherpas are migrated from eastern Tibet to Nepal. According to record of Ministry of Health and Population 36,000 Sherpa of east and northern Nepal are Buddhists.

Loshar (New Year)
The New Year is called 'Losher' in Sherpa.
Sherpa New Year is known as "Gyalwa-Loshar" and this is similar to the New Year observed in many Northern and Southern Asian countries like Japan, Tibet, Mongolia, and China etc.
Each of these countries has their own ways of celebrating the New Year.
Some places in Tibet, in the 1st of 11th month children playfully celebrate the New Year. This is called "Tola-Loshar".

Dumchi
History reveals that Dumchi was once celebrated at Tagshintok, Dongda, Namdingma, Sete and Shartungnga monasteries. With the passage of time it was discontinued.
The celebration of Dumchi festival began in Kyilhor Dingma in 1971 and in Samten-Chholing monastery in 1988.

Manirimdu
Manirimdu is similar to Dumchi in that it also involves ritual activities and tantric dances. However, in Manirimdu, Avalokiteshowr appears in neither a wrathful nor peaceful aspect and so the offering of sacramental cake (Torma) is not required.

She had successfully climbed Mont Blanc, Cho Oyu, and others.
